275 Pharmacists get training in Refresher Course at Mehsana

Shri Sarvajanik Pharmacy College, Mehsana organized a two days refresher course for registered Pharmacists at Deesa, Banaskantha on 21st &22nd September 2019, sponsored by Gujarat State Pharmacy Council (GSPC). The course received a tremendous response and had 275 participants from various fields of Pharmacy like Retail Pharmacy, hospitals, Primary health centers and industries, from the age group of 23 to 75.
Inauguration:
The course started with registration and refreshment at 9.00-10.00 am. The inauguration function started with introduction and welcome of guests by Mr.Suhashbhai Patel, Vice President, North Zone Druggist & Chemist Association . Mr.Montukumar Patel , President, GSPC, Ahmedabad was the Chief Guest and Shri. S. K. Patel President, North Zone Chemist & Druggist Association was Guest of Honor of the inauguration function. Dr. C. N. Patel Principal, SSPC, welcomed the gathering and delivered presidential address. He advised participants to take advantage of this refresher course for up gradation.
Valedictory Function:
The valedictory function was graced by Mr. Bharat Bhai Patel as chief guest who is EC Member, Gujarat State Pharmacy Council, Ahmedabad. Shri. Bhupendrabhai Thakkar President, Chemist & Druggist Association, Deesa and Shri. Maheshbhai Joshi Member, Pharmacist Association, Deesa graced the function as Guest of Honour at the end Dr. I S Anand Professor, SSPC proposed vote of thanks and congratulated the organizing committee for fruitfully conducting Refresher Course for the registered pharmacists.
All the participants gave their written feedback and were provided the printed course material from college and certificates from Gujarat State Pharmacy Council.

Report of Day - 1
(21st September 2019)
Lectures were delivered by eminent personalities from healthcare profession and reputed academicians.
Lecture 1:
The course began with insightful lecture regarding ‘E-Prescription & E- Pharmacy: Friend or Foe’ by Dr. C.N.Patel, Principal and Professor, Shri Sarvajanik Pharmacy college, Mehsana. He explained about importance and challenges about E-Prescription & E- Pharmacy in current scenario. He also discussed about various models of E-Pharmacy and different phases of E-Prescription.
Lecture 2:
Dr. H D Karen, Professor, Shri Sarvajanik Pharmacy College, Mehsana. Has delivered lecture on Latest scenario of pharmacy profession in India & advanced countries. He gave an elaborated lecture on Role of Pharmacist in different segment like Research, industry , academia, community, regulatory affairs and many more aspects.
Lecture 3:
Dr. I S Anand, Professor, Shri Sarvajanik Pharmacy college, Mehsana, has delivered lecture on ‘Therapeutic Update on selected Disorder: Diabetes Mellitus’. He provided a comprehensive updates on recent trends in treatment of Diabetes Mellitus.
Lecture 4:
Mr. Rajesh Trivedi, Marketing Partner of Firstcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Deesa delivered a lecture on Drug Store Management. He explained various ways of Drug store management and its outcome.

(22nd September 2019)
Lecture 5:
2nd day of refresher course was started with lecture of Dr. P. H Prajapati, Professor, Shri Sarvajanik Pharmacy college, Mehsana, made a presentation on Self-medication and its demerits . He made the Pharmacists aware about how self medication is helpful and dangerous as well through his presentation.
Lecture 6:
Ms. Dipali Savaliya, Executive Officer, Drug Information Centre (DIC), Gujarat State Pharmacy Council, Ahmedabad, gave presentation about Introduction to GSPC and also delivered lecture on Chronopharmacology. She has nicely discussed about new initiatives of GSPC, and discuss on applications of chronopharmacology.
Lecture 7:
Mr. Nipul Kapadia Pharmacy Head in Apollo Hospitals, Ahmedabad delivered a lecture on “Patient Counseling. He emphasized importance of Patient counselling.
Objective test:
The objective test was conducted for all participants after completion of afternoon session which was followed by the valedictory function and distribution of certificates.
