Without Laboratories men of science are soldiers without arms

To fulfil this motive an inauguration program of upgraded laboratory was organized at L. M. College of pharmacy with kind support of ZYDUS HOSPIRA ONCOLOGY PVT LTD.

As our Chief Guest we were honoured to have Mr. Ranjeet Menon (Director, Zydus Hospira Oncology Pvt Ltd) with us. The esteemed dignitaries on the diaswere – Dr. M.T.Chhabria (Principal, L. M. College of pharmacy),  Mr. B.M. Shah(Director, Ahmedabad Education Society), Prof. A. H. Kalro (Academic advisor, Ahmedabad education society)  and Mr. Ranjeet Menon (Director, Zydus Hospira Oncology Pvt Ltd).

Dr. M.T. Chabbria addressed the gathering first followed by Mr. B.M. Shah, Prof A.H. Karlo and Mr. Ranjeet Menon. Prof A.H. Karlo praised how the event marks utility of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives by industry like Zydus Hospira aimed at skill and knowledge development and also importance of industry- academia interaction which is on a decline in recent times and promoting research by faculty and students.  He stated that India can take legitimate pride in the fact that 1/3 of scientists in US have/had their basic education from good institutes in India. He said that LMCP has got the potential to fall in range of elite institutes like IITs, IIM’s, IISC when it comes to pharmacy education however financial assistance has its own due place in the process. But association with industry like Zydus should transcend financial aspects and must be extended to collaborations and cooperation in technical and research matters.

In a nutshell the main fundamental of the speeches given by the dignitaries was to develop the practical approach among the students. They also stated that  “LMCP made this state a Pharma Hub”, ranking 1st in Gujarat state in educational aspect  and thus we need to work even harder to secure such position at national level too. The scope of premier academic institute is not just strengthening and contributing to the academic process but contributing to the pool of knowledge that brings progress and prosperity to nation and global human family. The upgraded laboratory (QA and QC Department) is now well equipped  with latest machines and also has a developed cell culture lab along.
